Nestled in the quaint and quiet little town of Granite Falls, NC in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains Thistle House B&B and Wedding Place is a picturesque home on a 3 ½ acre landscaped hillside with a goldfish pond. Whether in the spring when the azaleas and mountain laurel are in bloom or in the autumn when the leaves are in full color, it is a relaxing place to stay for a night, a weekend or a week. |

Built in 1920 with brick arts and crafts styling, Thistle House (formerly The Halle House) is furnished with antiques and reproductions taking you back to a by-gone era. Relax in the Ships and Seasons lounge near the fireplace, to enjoy television, watch a movie (DVD or VCR), read a book, play checkers or chess, or enjoy the conversation of other guests. The focal point is a genuine antique hand-made spinning wheel. A continental breakfast is available for our early risers and full gourmet breakfast is served from 8 to 10 AM in the McHughes Dining Room. Enjoy our celebrity photograph gallery. Special consideration will be given to those guests with dietary restrictions.

Granite Falls will soon will be the home of one of the countries largest Walmart/Sam's Club complexes. We are minutes away from Hickory, home of the Furniture Mart and Galleries. Or travel north to Lenoir to visit "20 miles of furniture," a stretch of highway dominated by outlet stores for bargain hunters and window shoppers. We are also close to Golfing, Racing, Shopping and Antique venues. We are only 30 minutes away from the Blowing Rock ski resorts, so we are open year around. We are an hour away from the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway and the cities of Burnsville and Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, for spring and summer vacationers. We are 36 miles from Hiddenite, NC, home of the Hiddenite Gem Mines. We are also close to one of the largest Equestrian Exhibitions. Although we are not equiped for live stock, we do have enough room to park horse trailers. We have special weekends planned throughout the year which we announce regularly on our website...one of which is, of course, a three night stay for the annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Gathering.
