| Introduction |

The Groome Inn Bed and Breakfast, located just outside Greensboro, North Carolina, was built circa 1900 by Marvin Groome. Marvin was the youngest son of Zachariah Groome, the first Groome to settle in Guilford County. The farmhouse was purchased in 2003 by Mrs. Fred M. Groome Jr. (Jimmie) and has been beautifully remodeled to comfortably accommodate guests. The historic hilltop house, nestled among majestic white oaks, rests on eight acres of rolling green lawns and woods. Guests are encouraged to meander the grounds and gardens, full of native North Carolina flora, or sit and relax on the vast wraparound porch always cooled by a country breeze. |

The Groome Inn began as the dream of Jimmie Groome long before she purchased the historic family home in 2003. Our entire family immediately began updating the older part of the home to enhance its 1900 beauty. As the work progressed, everyone realized the small kitchen and dining area simply did not meet the needs of a modern family. We wanted a place where our own family would have the space, comfort and conveniences to enjoy gatherings. The decision was made to build a large addition that would house a state of the art kitchen, opening into a sunroom - allowing ample space for food preparation, group conversations, and dining. We also added a luxurious honeymoon suite on the second floor, along with two additional bathrooms for the upstairs bedrooms in the original part of the house. The renovations required 18 months of hard labor and emotional fortitude. The end result is The Groome Inn, a splendid Bed and Breakfast, and a home we are proud to present to our guests. |

For our corporate clients, we offer more than the standard hotel fare. The Groome Inn features a large wraparound front porch with comfortable seating and fresh country breezes. We offer rooms with king, queen and full-size beds; all of the mattresses are pillow top and the ultimate in comfort. The Carter and Carolyn suites even have treetop-sitting porches to curl up with a good book or take care of some last-minute business. And for bathing luxury, the McIver suite has a stone tiled shower with body sprays and a large showerhead, walnut floors and antique washbasins, while the Camille suite features a Jacuzzi to help relax even the most stressed professional. Every suite has cable and Internet access, individual room climate control and a private bath. We have a fax machine available for your convenience. And of course we offer a southern breakfast of your choice, at the time that suits your schedule. Our most important feature is that you can make yourself at home, enjoy a chat with Jimmie or just enjoy your privacy.
