Introduction

This 1897 Queen Anne house was built at the end of the Victorian era by Oliver Davis Revell. Revell constructed several residences in the Montford neighborhood. He married a widow named Carolyn Gray and built this house as an investment property. The first full time occupant of the home was Marvin B. Wilkinson, in 1904.

A Bed of Roses began operation in 1996 and has currently been renovated and re-opened in May 2002. The inn is located only 8 minutes north of Biltmore Estate in the Montford Historic District.

Much of the antique furniture currently used in the Parlor and the Dining room
was used as props in the movie "On the Road to Wellville" starring Anthony Hopkins.

There are four spacious and comfortable guest rooms, furnished with an eye to period detail. Each of our guest rooms has its own private luxury bath, TV, and queen size bed; some have whirlpool tubs, and one has a claw-foot tub. A delicious gourmet breakfast is included in your stay.
