Bluebird Suite
Each room is elegantly designed to reflect the nature of a different bird native to North Carolina. The Hummingbird and Blue Jay rooms overlook the old maid's quarters with a picturesque view of assorted fruit trees and grapevines. The Cardina Room opens out to the front of the house and side yard with an old rock pond and sun dial. The Bluebird Suite overlooks a church and the front of the house.
After a restful night's sleep, step outside your bedroom door to the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee awaiting you on an early 1900's sideboard in the hall. Enjoy your coffee while getting ready, then come downstairs for a delectable full breakfast.
Breakfast is especially nice and includes items such as sausage and cheese quiche, lemon-ricotta pancakes, and all types of delectable breads. You can enjoy the company of others at afternoon tea. Have your tea and special treats by a warm fire in the winter or outside by the pond when the weather is pleasant.
Take a stroll around the yard and enjoy a variety of birds feeding at many feeders on the grounds.
If it is rest and relaxation you desire, have a cup of hot apple cider, coffee, or hot chocolate in front of the fireplace in one of the two sitting rooms during cooler seasons or outside in one of the big red rocking chairs in warmer weather. Pleasure your palate with homemade treats such as gingerbread squares, shortbread cookies or lemon squares.
