Much, much more than a Bed and Breakfast, River House Country Inn & Restaurant is a full-service inn on the North Fork of the New River, near West Jefferson and not far from Boone in the northwest corner of North Carolina. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we are far from the bustle of everyday life. Escape to a country inn that is really in the country! There's a mile of riverfront for strolling, wading, tubing, canoeing and fishing. Brown trout and rainbows abound. Walking trails wind through 170 acres. Our uniquely decorated guestrooms are converted farm buildings and feature king-size beds, private bathrooms, Jacuzzis, art, books and country antiques. Awake each morning to coffee at your door followed by breakfast in the main house. For dinner, our restaurant offers exquisite regional cuisine, an international wine list, and a full-service bar with all ABC permits. |

Relax in a rocking chair on the front porch overlooking the river, visit with other guests, and stroll around the property. River House is ideal for a romantic stay. River House on the New River is justly famous for wedding weekends in the North Carolina mountains. Friends and family members are ensconced in guest rooms and nearby cabins. Rehearsal dinners, special brunches and recreational activities culminate in the ceremony held under the giant sycamore tree at the river's edge. We host small business retreats. Multiple meeting rooms, breakfast, lunch and dinner; spacious areas for team building events, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, bocci, and croquet. Plenty of open spaces. Broadband wireless available. Our guest rooms are all in converted farm buildings behind the main house. The Weigh Station has a queen-size bed. All other rooms have king-size beds. No telephones, no TVs. And we do have broadband wireless access in the library and on the porch. |
