An Inn of Distinction Visitors to the Old North Durham Inn are invited to share in the hospitality of this restored, early 1900 Colonial Revival home, a 1991 recipient of the Durham Historic Preservation Society's "Architectural Conservation Citation."

Old North Durham Inn is located across the street from the residence used in the movie "Bull Durham" and a mile from Duke University, the Durham Bulls Ballpark, and the historic Carolina Theatre. In 1992, Jim came up with "Wool E. Bull" to win the name-the-mascot contest for the Durham Bulls Baseball Team. The Inn now offers guests free tickets to all Bulls home games.

The rocker-lined wrap around porch is a perfect place to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee or a home-made treat from the always stocked cookie jar. In the upstairs sitting area guests will find an extensive reference library on Durham and other areas of North Carolina, as well as menus of Durham's many eclectic and award-winning restaurants. A video library and variety of magazines and games are also available for guest enjoyment. The downstairs parlor, with its coffered ceiling, beautiful oak floors, fireplace, piano, television, VCR and music center is a perfect place to meet other guests or relax with family and friends.

The Inn offers four large, second floor, air-conditioned guest rooms. These rooms feature 10-foot ceilings, ceiling fans, queen-size beds, period wall coverings and furnishings, telephones, televisions and coffee/tea service.

A complimentary breakfast is served daily in the dining room. Guests enjoy a hearty fare of juice, coffee/tea, fresh fruit, muffins, carefully prepared egg dishes, fruit-filled pancakes, or thick homemade french toast, and sausage, ham or bacon.
