The historic home was built in 1917, by a businessman who required a wonderful place in which to entertain. Today, the Inn stands as Charlotte's finest example of Southern hospitality. The Morehead Inn offers six suites and six guestrooms, each with luxurious private baths, color cable TV, and period antiques. The Inn's public areas feature intimate fireplaces and grand twelve-foot ceilings.

The Morehead Inn - Charlotte, North Carolina

The Morehead Inn was built in 1917 for an energetic businessman named Charles Coddington and his wife Marjorie. He asked distinguished British-born architect William Peeps to design and create a house that was literally built for entertaining. The 14,000 sq. ft. complex was granted its historic status by the Mecklenburg Properties Commission in 1985, officially registering the property as a Charlotte Historic Landmark.

Often described as "The most unique experience available in Charlotte," the Inn proudly presents its Southern Traditional menu. We prepare all food items by hand in our kitchen the day of your event using fresh ingredients with some items from our own gardens!

Overnight guests at The Morehead Inn enjoy luxurious guestrooms filled with period furnishings and a host of fine amenities. All rooms have private baths. Guestroom rates range from $130 to $219 per night.
