Mélange is a blend of American and European architecture styles in a charming home from 1920 that is recorded in the National Register of Historic Places. Eleven foot ceilings, ornate mirrors, antique lamps, marble fireplaces, and Oriental carpets complement an eclectic house decor. Secluded behind towering hemlock hedges and century old trees, the house and its classic gardens make for unparalleled intimacy while inspiring light hearted nostalgia. The grand house interior and the beautifully landscaped exterior around four fountains are exceedingly romantic settings for weddings and receptions. |
| Guests at Mélange enjoy upscale accommodations in four guest rooms and a full floor suite. All rooms are air-conditioned and have private baths. Amenities include featherbeds, Turkish bathrobes, ironing utensils, hair dryers, telephone, refrigerators, telephones, cable TV/VCR’s, and coffee makers. Jacuzzi tubs, DVD players, music sets, and shelves of books are found in most of the rooms. Wireless Internet and printer access are available, and guests enjoy free access to our library of movies in video. |

A stay at Mélange is a culinary experience. Our gourmet breakfast menu will typically include a dressed up fresh fruit variety, a creative egg dish, a fresh sourdough bread selection with special preserves, and a gourmet coffee cake. In winter months, the breakfast is served formally in the Greenhouse with candlelight, festive china, and fine linens. In summer months, guests are treated to the Mediterranean touch of sitting outdoors on the Rose Garden Patio under umbrellas with the sound of splashing water from nearby fountains. Breakfast can also be served in the rooms for an additional charge. A glass of complimentary wine or a specialty dessert with strong coffee is available anytime. Enjoy these treats on the covered Mediterranean porch or reading from a book on a featherbed couch in front of the living room's fireplace. One of our niche offerings is the candlelight dinner served in private with antique bone china service, exquisite crystal, and fine linens. With one week advance notification, we try to cater to some special diets and are proud to have one of the area's highest sanitation ratings. |
| Conveniently located, Mélange is just a short 20-minute walk to historical Main Street Hendersonville with its antique shops and boutiques, specialty restaurants, Apple Festival, and Arts & Crafts Fairs. Colorful old dames in the famous Curb Market are a must see for old-fashioned hospitality and mountain heritage gifts.
