The Mast Farm Inn

The Mast Farm Inn provides an historic, rustic setting for an intimate wedding celebration. We extend to bridal parties the same warm hospitality that makes The Mast Farm Inn a favorite mountain getaway for couples, family groups, and business retreats.

We have space for up to 35 guests for an outdoor wedding ceremony. Couples have tied the knot in various scenic locations on our grounds. A popular spot is by the pond or in front of the Loom House, our 1812 log cabin. A small twig arbor is available and can be moved to the location of your choice, if desired. The Granary (a 2-bedroom, 2-bath cottage with large great room) provides the indoor backup location in case of inclement weather. If a backup location is available off-site, a garden wedding for a larger number may be planned.

In our restaurant, we can host as many as 75 guests for an early afternoon buffet reception in warm weather when guests can spill out onto our wraparound porch and terrace. Our largest dining room can accommodate up to 28 people (or more comfortably, 24 or 25) for a sit-down rehearsal dinner or reception. A recent wedding with 35 guests chose to seat the wedding party in Aunt Josie's, which houses our bar and a dining area. The remaining guests were seated in our largest dining room across the hall. Creative ways can be found to accommodate different sized groups.

For the menu, choose from Chef Colin Patience's seasonal Dinner Menu for a formal dinner reception or work with us to create a buffet reception to suit your tastes. We've served everything from whole roast pig to caviar on such occasions. We specialize in working with you to create a menu that includes your favorite dishes. Our Wine List features fine wines and champagnes from North Carolina and around the world from which to choose.

One of our most popular wedding related events is the Bridesmaids Luncheon. We have a dining terrace amid a colorful flower garden on the west side of the house, which provides the perfect setting for up to 30 guests on a weather friendly day. Of course our dining rooms would be available if dining al fresco were not possible.

If you schedule wedding festivities at the inn, we are happy to recommend a professional to create your special wedding cake, a photographer to suit your style, and a florist for your bouquet. Many times wedding festivities are planned in the vicinity of Valle Crucis. The Inn's eight guest rooms and seven private cottages are available for lodging for families and wedding guests. The Inn can house around 40 guests overnight and a full gourmet breakfast is always included with lodging. The Inn boasts several sitting areas in addition to the dining rooms throughout the house, providing a comfortable setting that allows for visiting with friends and relatives from morning until night.
