 Vilas (Boone / Valle Crucis area), North Carolina (NC) Bed and Breakfast: Stroll our seven wooded mountain-top acres to find secluded sitting areas, unique art and statuary and special gardens. Just minutes from great shopping in Boone or Blowing Rock, we are central to ski basins, Grandfather Mountain, golfing, fishing, horseback riding or restaurants. Regional events such as Merlfest, Wooly Worm Festival, and Highland Games are just minutes away. We provide a lodging alternative if you are attending the Bristol Raceway.

Guest Rooms/Rates

Black Bear Black Bear - This first floor room is equipped especially for guests with limitations but is great for all guests. The room is furnished with warm rustic handmade cedar furniture and features a king size bed, gas stove to warm the sitting area, and private bath. A sliding door gives access to a private covered porch that connects to the wide public deck overlooking the valley. Visual and audible emergency alarms aid guests in an emergency. Rate: $145 - $160.

Lost Creek - This second floor room has a queen four-poster bed that will swallow you up in luxurious comforters and pillows. A gas stove lights the evening while you watch the sun fall behind the far mountains from your private porch. After a bubble bath in the jetted spa, grab a butter-soft robe and relax in the rocking chair by the fire. Rate: $145 - $160.

 Lost Creek

Mountain View Mountain View - This second floor, antique filled room has large windows overlooking our front garden, and in winter time, Moore Mountain. The fluffy king size bed has a unique handmade headboard with soft reading lights. Comfortable chairs gather around a warming gas stove. A large bathroom with jetted spa and separate shower complete the room. Rate: $125 - $145.

Garden View - This second floor room has a view of our front garden, and in winter time, Moore Mountain. The unique headboard over the king size bed is complimented by antique Chinese tables and collectibles from around the world. The sitting area is gathered around a fireplace with antique mantle. The special large bathroom has a window seat, jetted spa, and separate shower. Rate: $125 - $145.

 Garden View

Hummingbird Hummingbird - This second floor room is our largest. It has great long-range mountain views from its private porch. This bedroom has two queen size beds and can accommodate up to four adults comfortably. A gas fireplace with antique mantle provides that extra intimacy. The large bathroom has a window seat and spacious jetted spa, as well as separate shower. Rate: $145 - $160, Third & Fourth Persons: $25 each.

Policies...
  • Rates change seasonally and during the weekend. Discounts available for clergy, extended stays, and AARP.
  • Deposit of 50% of total cost required at reservation. If you are paying by check, we will gladly hold your reservation for 10 days. A total refund will be paid if you cancel 14 days prior to your planned day of arrival. Notification of less than 14 days requires us to retain 20% of total room cost. Cancellation within 24 hours of planned arrival requires us to retain entire deposit.
  • Check-in: 2:00 - 6:00 pm, Checkout: 11:00 am. With notice, we will do our best to accommodate different times.
  • Upon arrival, we will re-confirm your method of payment and re-validate credit card information.
  • If paying by cash or check, we request full payment of current balance due at check in. Any subsequent charges may be paid for as service is rendered.
  • Our Lodge is smoke-free. If you wish to smoke, we have provided areas on all public porches for your convenience.
  • We are unable to provide accommodations for your pet.
  • We do not accept children under 12 years of age.
  • Gift certificates available.
