In April, 2007, Blue Ridge Electric, in conjuction with the Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce, awarded Rose Noakes their annual Customer Service Star for her exceptional customer service to her guests.
Rose Noakes is the owner/proprietor of The Irish Rose Bed & Breakfast. Rose is of Irish extraction, born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She married an American, adopted our country as her own and lived with her husband for twenty years in the Chicago area before moving to Florida. After becoming a widow, she traveled the East Coast looking for a place to create the B & B of her dreams and found it in Lenoir, North Carolina at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The beautiful, historical, two story brick colonial revival home has gone through many months of renovation and refurbishment and opened for business Memorial Day weekend 2006.
Rose enjoyed many years of traveling as well as cooking for and entertaining a myriad of business associates, friends and family. She now looks forward to sharing her beautiful home and cooking skills with fellow travelers, providing them with a warm welcome, good food, beautiful and comfortable accommodations and great memories of their visit to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Breakfast is served in the dining room weekdays between 7 - 9 am and weekends, 8 - 10 am. You will be provided with a menu for breakfast the evening before and asked to complete your selections, noting the time you wish to enjoy breakfast in the morning. Each meal is prepared fresh for the time you request.
May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to our door.
You can usually find a soft breeze to cool the summer temperatures on the front porch. It is an excellent area to enjoy a homemade cookie or an afternoon snack and a cold drink.
The Library offers a large selection of books for your reading pleasure, as well as a variety of VCR and DVD movies. Feel free to curl up on the sofa or window seat in front of the fire with a good book, enjoy a TV program, or perhaps strike up a conversation with fellow guests. The living room provides a quiet restful area to enjoy a book or some good conversation.
Lenoir is tucked into the foothills of the Blue Ridge -- bounded by mountains, Pisgah National Forest and the Catawba River. You'll find many enjoyable attractions and activities as well as a variety of restaurants and shopping nearby.
