Slip away to the Harborlight Guest House Bed & Breakfast on the central North Carolina coast and relax amidst shady palm trees and a tranquil waterfront. The Inn, located in the Cape Carteret/Emerald Isle area, is a short 2 1/2 hour drive from the Raleigh/Durham International Airport and a 1 hour drive from the regional airports of New Bern and Jacksonville.

The Inn offers 530' of shoreline on Bogue Sound and the rocking chairs and lounge chairs are perfect spots to read a good book or just enjoy the birds and wildlife. If guests prefer the sand and surf, the innkeepers will share the hidden treasure of Hammocks Beach State Park and the Cape Lookout Lighthouse island escapes! Both islands are only accessible by boat and offer pristine beaches, seclusion, and incredible shelling. The waterfront shops of Swansboro and Beaufort are favorite haunts for antique shoppers. The Inn is a secret hideaway; there are no signs on the highway advertising the Inn, thus insuring the guests' privacy and seclusion while staying at the Harborlight. The Inn sits on a peninsula surrounded on three sides by water, thus all suites have stunning views of Bogue Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway. Waterfront sunsets are a spectacular conclusion to a day of shelling, shopping, and exploring the Crystal Coast museums and waterfront villages.

The Harborlight Guest House features six waterfront suites with private entrances and private baths. Each suite features a two-person whirlpool bath and/or fireplace (some suites feature both) and the option of in-suite breakfast. A favorite suite of the Inn offers a 72"x72" European Bubblebath Tub with an underwater "mood" light!

All suites have expansive windows for viewing the birds and boats of the waterway. Occasionally, guests are delighted with glimpses of porpoise feeding in the waters surrounding the Inn and there is the occasional visit of river otter in search of a shellfish dinner!
