Introduction
Located in Nags Head, NC, on the beautiful Outer Banks, the First Colony Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places because it is the sole surviving "beach-style hotel" that was popular in the early 1930s among east coast society.
Restored and modernized in 1991, the Inn is now a B&B with a wide two-story veranda and is just across the street from the expansive Atlantic Ocean beaches for which the Outer Banks is famous. It is also the only AAA 4-diamond lodging on the Outer Banks for 2005.
In addition to a lovely outdoor pool (in season) and free parking, our Inn offers a total of 26 rooms on three levels, plus complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon tea for registered guests.
The Inn is smoke-free, and we do not permit pets but can recommend a nearby kennel.
We can also take care of all arrangements for honeymoons, anniversaries, reunions, small conferences or other special occasions.
Our room rates are all based on two persons and exclude taxes and gratuities. Our week-day room rates range from $69 off-season to $289 in-season for third-floor deluxe rooms. Rates are higher on weekends and holidays. Rooms with a sleeper sofa, trundle bed or day bed can accommodate a third person at an additional charge. Two-night minimum stay is in effect from May 20 to October 18.
