Cypress Moon Inn

The Inn overlooks the broad waters of The Albemarle Sound here in Kitty Hawk. The Inn was built by the owners, Greg and Linda Hamby, to maximize the view from all of the rooms. From your room you have direct access to the porch which fronts The Sound. We serve breakfast on the porch when the weather permits.

There are 3 guest rooms that sleep two adults and are furnished with antiques. In your room there is also a refrigerator, satellite TV, radio and a private bath. Other amenities include kayaks and bicycles. You may kayak right from The Inn in the shallow, near shore waters. There is a deck next to the water to relax on as well. Bike trails are easily accessible from here.

Your Innkeepers, Greg and Linda Hamby have been residents of the area for 34 years. We can share with you our local knowledge so you can find the attractions which most interest you.

You will find the Cypress Moon Inn to be quiet, due to our secluded yet convenient location as well as comfortable, and relaxing. The Inn is not suitable for young children and is a non smoking facility. Please call us from 8 am to 10 pm 7 days a week to reserve.

The cottage sleeps two adults in a king size bed and affords excellent privacy. It is fully equipped and has a porch, satellite TV, washer and dryer and is located in a quiet area of Kitty Hawk, 1 mile from the beach and 1/2 mile from the sound. Restaurants and shopping are also close by. The Cottage is non smoking. The rate is the same per night as The Inn and the same policies apply. The Cottage is three miles from The Inn and is self catering. There is a fully equipped kitchen.

The cottage is on a quiet residential street with 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities and Cable TV. A great feature is the 40' long covered porch as well as the grassy back yard. The bedrooms are furnished with queen beds. One bedroom is a master with its own bath. The other bedrooms share a bath. The rate for two guests is the same as The Inn. The Cottage sleeps a total of six guests and is non smoking. The Cottage is three miles from The Inn and is self catering. It is available by the night with applicable minimums or by the week.

• There is a two night minimum for the summer season and a two night minimum on weekends year round.
• There is a three night minimum on all major holidays.
• Summer Season: (Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend) - $210 per night.
• Spring and Fall: (From the third Friday in March up to Memorial Day weekend and from Labor Day through Veteran's Day Weekend) - $155 per night.
• Winter rate: $135 per night.
• When reserving for Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day and Veteran's Day weekends full payment is required in advance. Rain checks will only be issued for cancellations for these holidays.
• Payment: A 50% deposit is required to reserve a room. When reserving within 21 days of your stay full payment is required. Multiple room reservations also require full payment in advance.
• Cancellations: 22 days prior to your stay we refund your deposit less a $35 fee.
  • Within 21 days of your stay rain checks are issued.
  • For multiple room reservations only rain checks are issued.
• Check-in time is 3 - 6 p.m. Check out is 11 a.m. Late arrivals please call ahead.
• Breakfast: A fresh hot breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. Vegetarian dishes are available upon request.
• Storm Policy - Rain Check. There is a $35 cancellation fee.
