Only minutes from I-26, I-74, and the nearby towns of Columbus, Tryon and Landrum, you can experience the best of small town life without a long drive. Dining, shopping, outdoor recreation, the arts and a mountain view await you. There are equestrian events at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center which is a mere 5 miles away! Opportunities abound during your stay - explore the local area or take a day trip to experience more of what this scenic region has to offer.

  • Visit the famous Biltmore Estate in Asheville, known not only for their extravagant estate, but also their vineyards, shopping & restaurants. We recommend signing up for a wine tasting!
  • Only a 10 minute drive from Butterfly Creek--our own area vineyards Rockhouse Vineyard and Green Creek Winery offer tours & tastings.
  • In Flat Rock, check out two of our favorites, The Flatrock Playhouse - The State Theater of NC & The Carl Sandburg Home - famous for their goats!
  • The Tryon area is well-known for its local folk art in all mediums.
  • We also have great local performing arts.
  • For nature explorers:
    • Only 15-20 minutes from Butterfly Creek is beautiful Pearson's Falls, a favorite of locals & visitors.
    • Big Bradley Falls Waterfall - Near Pearson's Falls.
    • Dupont State Forest is known as having the best waterfalls in NC.
    • For some true hiking & breathtaking views, visit nearby Chimney Rock Park.
    • Green River Adventures in Saluda offers kayaking trips down Saluda's Green River--tons of fun!
