Introduction

Enter the Benjamin W. Best Country Inn and Carriage House where yesteryear's country farmhouse charm awaits you and the ordinary of years gone by become extraordinary. This National Registry Historic Property (circa 1845-50) is situated in rural Greene County, North Carolina on a working farm, conveniently located in the "hub" of Eastern North Carolina.

We take pleasure in serving as your host for weddings, receptions, luncheons, retreats, or family reunions. Our expansive grounds lend our facility to large groups and our country charm provides great atmosphere to small parties. We can provide tents and other equipment as well as catering. A few hundred yards behind the house we have a lake for your enjoyment and recreation. We do offer consultation on every event or if you wish, you may do your planning entirely. We have information about local caterers, rental companies and entertainment.

Carriage House

Ask us about our Nooherooka Natural Black Angus beef project and visit one of the cattle herds on the farm. This all-natural beef production features special considerations for handling and offers absolutely no use of hormones or antibiotics.

Inn Rooms

The Benjamin W. Best Country Inn offers "Benjamin and Smithy's Room" upstairs featuring antique twin beds with tester. The sitting area is complete with game entertainment coupled with a working fireplace and private bath featuring early American charm. The room is provided with DIRECTV, telephone, climate control, and wireless internet access.

Carriage House

The Carriage House may provide intimacy for newlyweds or a getaway for small families. This private cottage features a tester queen bed, or may sleep six with trundle, single bed, and sleeper sofa. This small residence offers all the amenities for a week of quiet and/or outdoor fun activities. The well-equipped pantry and kitchen feature convenience for breakfast and snacks. Guests may also participate in the hands-on activities of grilling, picnicking, soccer, croquet, and more.

Free Breakfast

Rates include a wonderful country farm breakfast with local naturally grown products when available, and free range eggs. Breakfast is usually served between 7:30 and 9:00 am.
