Besides being the former residence of Charleton Heston and his wife Lydia, the Beaufort House boasts numerous credits to its name, including being host to a photoshoot for a 'Hanes' Advertising Campaign in 1994. The Savannah Cottage Room was chosen as the backdrop for a photoshoot for Casey Kellar's nationally published 'The Natural Beauty & Bath Book' in 1997, and our front porch has been the center of attention for numerous photographers, including the calendar 'Caroline Places' in 1995, and the backdrop for Steve Metcalf's political campaign photos in 1998.

The Beaufort House, unmatched in its class, is located just North of Downtown Asheville in a quiet, upscale historical neighborhood. Situated back off the road, it eloquently sits on two acres of beautiful landscaped grounds and gardens. Enveloped in history, this grand home is the perfect place to spend a honeymoon, anniversary, or special getaway weekend.

Open year round, come to our home for the Holidays to experience an old fashioned Victorian Christmas. Extravagant and large common rooms have woodburning fireplaces and ample room for lounging or reading - the perfect place to unwind.

Each morning you will anticipate our lavish gourmet breakfast... The morning begins with fresh ground specialty coffees, teas and gourmet hot chocolate. Seasonal fruits, muffins, breads and biscuits are the prelude to a wonderful hot breakfast entree. Belgian waffles, cheese souffle, and pear dumplings are some of our specialty dishes. Everything is made fresh from the purest ingredients and are enjoyed with white linen and silver service. Recently, some of our signature recipes have been chosen to appear in the nationally published cookbook 'Dining by Design', a conglomeration of gourmet recipes accompanied by beautiful photography. We are honored to have been chosen for this book.

Enjoy one of many movies we have to offer in your own VCR in the privacy of your own room, or pull up a cozy rocker on our wrap-around 'gingerbread' porch with gazebo and enjoy a glass of wine, lemonade, or tea. Indulge in modern luxuries, while surrounding yourself in turn-of-the-century Victorian elegance. Choose from one of our eleven exquisite guest rooms, each one different and individual in character. All have private bath, cable TV, VCR and telephone. All rooms, except one, are furnished with either a wood-burning fireplace, a two-person jacuzzi tub, or both, and some with private balcony or deck.
