The unspoiled natural beauty of the Cherokee and Pisgah National Forests surround you with ever-changing mountain views.

Proprietors Monica and Tony Martin invite you to experience comfort of your own home with the beauty and seclusion of a mountaintop retreat. As you relax in our old fashioned rocking chairs on the 85-foot long covered porch, enjoy the majestic view of seven mountain chains with a direct view of Mount Mitchell, the highest peak in the eastern United States.

The fall foliage in the Great Smoky Mountains is known throughout the world, and there's no better place to enjoy this transformation than here amidst the mountains and trees. Winter, spring, summer or fall, our stay is your stay for an ideal restful or romantic getaway.

At 4,600 feet, Bald Mountain House is the perfect escape from the summer heat! Swim in the heated pool, serve up a rousing game of tennis, go horseback riding or take a hike on our nature trail all without leaving the resort property. For those who are more adventurous, a two mile hike on our nature trail connects to the Appalachian Trail up on top of Big Bald Mountain (elev. 5,516 ft.). With 360 degree views of three states, this is a breathtaking spot for a picnic. Golfing, fishing, kayaking and whitewater rafting locations are all very near the Bald Mountain House.

The winter months bring snowfalls just perfect for skiing, snow boarding and snow tubing at the Wolf Laurel Ski Resort just five minutes down the mountain from our property.
