Recently awarded the AAA Four Diamond Award! The Albemarle Inn located on 3/4 of an acre, is within walking distance of the Grove Park Inn and minutes to restaurants, galleries and the Biltmore Estate. The Inn was built in 1907 as a private residence by a prominent North Carolina physician. The Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was featured in Travel Holiday Magazine and National Geographic Traveler.

Guest Social Areas The Inn is graced with large spacious rooms with high ceilings (eleven feet high on the first floor and ten feet high on the second), large windows, oak paneling and crown molding. The first floor parlor features a fireplace with comfortable seating area, a turn of the century baby grand piano (Cathy's grandmother's) and a carved oak stairway with a unique circular landing and balcony. The second floor parlor is a haven for conversation and games.

Accommodations
Eleven exceptionally spacious guest rooms each with private bath with clawfoot tubs and showers, cable TV, computer compatible telephone and individually controlled air conditioning and heating. Each room is elegantly and comfortably decorated with period furniture and European linens. Guest can choose from one room that offers a fireplace and a 2-person whirlpool tub in another room.

Our Gourmet Breakfasts Candlelight and soft music greet Albemarle guests as they come down the grand staircase for breakfast. Larry's fresh brewed coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available for early risers. Guests delight in a cup with the newspaper by the fire or on the veranda. Cathy prepares a gourmet breakfast usually served between 8:00 and 9:00 AM amid sunlight and plants on the sunporch or by cozy warmth of the fireplace in the dining room. Individual tables for two or four let guests choose between privacy or the opportunity to chat with fellow guests. Our menu varies daily featuring an assortment of chilled juices, seasonal fruit dishes, gourmet entrees and great coffee and teas.
