Blue Moon Bed & Breakfast Seventeen miles from the Trace and less than an hour from Nashville, this new and freshly decorated B&B is in the Columbia historic district and was built in 1885. The whole upstairs is a single suite for guests, with bedroom, bath, a comfortable sitting room, and extra bedroom for any extra family members. Columbia has several antebellum homes open for tours every day, including the home of President James K. Polk. $85 for the suite, $10 for extras using the adjoining bedroom.

Deanna’s Cabins Seven miles from the Trace near the village of Hampshire, these two new cedar cabins are in a lovely wooded setting. One has a separate bedroom, bath, living room with daybed, kitchen, and low loft with twin beds. The other has a living room with hide-a-bed, bath, kitchen, and a low loft with queen bed. Un-hosted, but breakfast makings may be supplied. $95 and $115.
Avaleen Springs Bed & Breakfast Sixteen miles west of the Trace on Highway 412, between Hohenwald and Linden, TN. This is a truly magical 30 acre retreat, a rustic cedar home nestled against a bluff, with a mile-long series of springs and streams that runs under the house. You can actually observe creeklife through a glass coffee table located in the sitting room! Canoeing and fishing in the area, and convenient to the Tennessee River, the Buffalo River, Shiloh Battlefield, and Mousetail Landing State Park. Five rooms.
