Introduction

Near the Glacier National Park entrances at West Glacier and Camas Creek,
but far from the crowds, trains & traffic, Smoky Bear Ranch has all of the
conveniences of a deluxe four-season facility in a remote forested setting.

Named for a legendary grizzly bear that roamed the Smoky Range of the Flathead National Forest, this lodge was established as a Bed & Breakfast nearly 15 years ago. The Smoky Bear Lodge, built entirely of native cedar and pine, is situated on a slight hill overlooking a pond that is frequented by wildlife such as deer, elk, bear, and moose. The Apgar Mountains of Glacier National Park form the backdrop to this serene setting.

From its natural open beam ceiling, native rock hearth, and warm wood stove to the trophy elk mount, the main room in the lodge offers an "old west" atmosphere. After a long day on the trails, you can relax in front of the fire or retire to your spacious room. Furnished with Scott's lodgepole pine headboards and furniture and adorned with Nancy's hand made quilts, each room is unique and inviting. See our Smoky Bear Store to purchase these items and more.

We can help you book white water rafting trips, guided fishing trips, horseback & pack trips, wilderness hiking trips, alpine skiing at The Big Mountain, Nordic skiing in Glacier National Park, and many other activities. In addition, we have river fishing, mountain biking, hiking, Nordic skiing, ice skating, sledding, and other activities around the property.

We provide nightly campfires for our Lodge guests - sometimes providing special treats.

Apgar Suite

Our premiere accommodation occupies a second floor loft off the main room of the lodge. Featuring an extra large room with two queen beds and a private bathroom with a shower, satellite TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, and large closet. Max 4 persons, $120 - $170

Pine Room

A large room with a queen bed, satellite TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, and private bath with a shower. Max 2 persons, $100 - $150

Cedar Room

This special room has a full size double bed, refrigerator, hair dryer, and private bath with shower. Max 2 persons, $100 - $125 (not available in winter)

Reservation Information
  • Room rates plus tax are for two persons per night and includes a full breakfast.
  • Additional persons + $25 each per night
  • 50% Deposit/night required to confirm reservation, balance due upon arrival
  • Personal Check, Travels Checks, Cash, or Money Orders in US funds

  • Smoking outside only
