Blue Mountain Bed and Breakfast

Treasured family heirlooms and travel experiences of hosts, Brady and Elaine, are reflected in the decor of the entire Inn which includes the main house, Hawk Hill House, and the log outbuilding, Lewis and Clark Lodge. The Syringa Suite and Rose Room are located in the main house, while the Sagebrush Suite and Bitterroot Room are located in the neighboring Lodge.

The Bitterroot Room offers spectacular scenery and comfort, all within a cozy, log cabin-like atmosphere. Bitteroot honors Montana's state flower, which was of particular importance to Native people within this area. Reflected through photos and art work, this theme takes a person back to Montana and the western region during the 19th and 20th centuries. A large eastern window overlooks the Bitterroot River, visually taking guests along the very route that Meriwether Lewis took on his return trip in 1806.

The Rose overlooks the entryway garden which from spring to fall is in bloom with lovely shrub and wild roses, iris, honeysuckle and other flowers. In the winter, the snow powders the pines in a shimmering white, a view that any summer's day would envy. The deck is adjoined by the hillside and is particularly beautiful during spring when the fragrant syringe bushes bloom and wild flowers blanket the ground. On a summer's day, guests can enjoy a glass of lemonade and a good book in the shade of the wing.

The Sagebrush Suite offers a western, log décor that is reminiscent of an earlier era, tying the Inn to a past history of family homesteads and ranching. The suite looks out over the beautiful Missoula Valley, allowing for views of the city and one of the first ranches around here - a fitting scene given the Western feel. You will enjoy many relaxing moments as you take in the expanse of the West in the room's comfortable sitting area or on the outdoor deck. After that long day on the trail, you can look forward to a soak in your private jetted tub, something that would make a cowboy and his old-time wash basin more than envious.

An expansive chamber with vaulted ceiling, over-sized picture windows and a sitting area overlooking the Japanese lily pond and waterfall. Beautiful king-sized bed with pillow-top mattress and down comforter. Private bath with two sinks (one outside the bathroom in dressing area). A lovely two-person jetted tub w/ Roman shower and rich marble flooring. TV with DVD and music capability, small refrigerator, air conditioning. Shared outdoor deck and swing near waterfall (with private bistro table). $139 per night, $155 in peak season.

The Syringa Suite is our bridal "suite" and largest room. To the north, large picture windows overlook a breathtaking Japanese water garden where Koi swim among the water lilies and a spectacular waterfall tumbles to the garden below. On the west, sliding glass doors open onto a deck that is nestled among wildflowers and Ponderosa pines. Within, rich green carpet and beautiful stepping stones create a "garden pathway" that leads the eye outside and complements the room's Asian décor. While you soak in your private tub, you will find yourself transformed to a Japanese mountain inn as the open window bathes you in the sweet smell of pines and the sound of the waterfall beyond; tranquility for the mind, body and soul. The comfort of a plush, king-sized bed and more traditional American sitting space is all that gives away the true secret of this room as a Montana hideaway.

The Ponderosa Room, like the Sage Brush and Bitterroot Rooms, has a Western feel. Located in the main house, it is a nice alternative to The Rose Room which has Victorian appeal, or the Syringa Suite which offers a Japanese decor. The Ponderosa is also our only dog-friendly room. We keep all other rooms and common areas pet-free so that those with severe allergies can fully enjoy the bed and breakfast. The Ponderosa, priced like the Sage Brush, ($129 low season and $145 high season) is the only room not listed on our reservation page. To avoid an over booking of the bed and breakfast, we ask that you call to reserve The Ponderosa Room if you are interested.

The Ponderosa is a welcoming and very relaxing room, with a locally hand crafted king-sized log bed, pillow-top mattress and down comforter. Sliding glass doors open onto a private deck where one can sit and enjoy the amazing Missoula valley view and towering ponderosa pines. The bath is done in granite and tile and includes a one-person jetted tub/shower combination. From either the recliner or bed, a person can read, enjoy the view or snuggle in and watch movies on the flat screen TV with DVD player. A small fridge and air conditioning unit are included.

• Well mannered dog of any size are welcome, 2 small dogs are welcome.
• Dogs are not to be left alone during the day, unless crated.
• $25 cleaning fee for the first 3 days and $5 a day there after.

• The Blue Mountain Bed and Breakfast is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 14 (fourteen) days* prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation.
• In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than fourteen (14) days* notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we can rebook your room(s), a full or partial refund, minus a $25 administrative fee, will be made.
• Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special requests.
• A 30 day cancellation notice is required on whole house bookings and for some holidays and special events.
• Any damages to room or property will be added to your reservation.
• Check-in: 4 - 6 PM. If arriving outside of check-in times, please call to make arrangements.
• Check-out: 11 AM.
• The Blue Mountain Bed and Breakfast is a smoke free environment for the health of all of guests; however designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
• No Pets. Please call for help in making arrangements to board your pet.
• Well behaved children are welcome, but our B&B is restricted to two guests per room. Because of the nature of our location, water gardens and mountainous terrain, it is necessary for children to be attended at all times. We do offer additional discounts for reserving either the Rose or Bitterroot room in conjunction with its neighboring suite if traveling with children.
• Parking: If you will be arriving by R.V. or with a trailer, we will need to make special arrangements for your parking needs due to our hillside location.
