Starkville is in Oktibbeha County boasting a diverse community. While touring the town a B&B is a relaxing choice, such as a Starkville bed and breakfast. Visitors to the International Fiesta are invited to taste the food, join the dancing, and be a part of this world party. Admission is free and it is held the first Saturday in April at the MSU Drill Field. The Spring Fever Concert attracts crowds of music lovers to The Junction on MSU's campus for an outdoor concert featuring bluegrass, country, and rock 'n roll bands. Once the sawmill and boardwalks disappeared, the city's earliest identity as "Boardtown" disappeared with it. Luckily, Starkville has been able to keep the flavor and character of its "boomtown".
