Welcome to The Devereaux Shields House
The Devereaux Shields House is a small Queen Ann Victorian Bed and Breakfast located in the beautiful Natchez, MS historic district and listed on the National Historic Register for significant homes. Our Bed & Breakfast includes two properties, the elegant 1893 Queen Ann Victorian main house and the charming 1873 Victorian Aunt Clara's Cottage. The Devereaux Shields House features 6 rooms, two beautifully appointed suite/rooms surrounded by carefully manicured gardens in the main house and 4 spacious rooms in the cottage with heart pine floors and large veranda. Aunt Clara's Cottage was just added in March 2006. Our homes are just a few blocks from the 200-foot-high Natchez Bluffs, which offers a stunning view of the Mississippi River for several miles in both directions.

1873 Victorian Aunt Clara's Cottage
Aunt Clara's Cottage provides four spacious rooms in a charming 1870's Victorian with heart pine floors, large veranda, and ample sitting areas. There is also a reading room. Aunt Clara's is a couple doors from the main Devereaux Shields House.

Relax during your stay with us, whether its quiet time rocking in chairs with morning coffee on the front porch, sitting together overlooking the peaceful neighborhood street from the upper front porch, or strolling the beautiful surrounding gardens. Go on peaceful, early morning walks hand-in-hand along the rise overlooking the persistent and meandering Mississippi river just blocks away, walk just a few blocks into the old town center for breakfast, lunch or dinner, enjoy the beauty and significance of the Antebellum and Victorian homes in the original Historic District of Natchez or the equally beautiful Garden District. Perhaps, tour the beautiful Antebellum and Victorian homes throughout the entire city that survived the Civil War unharmed.
Overnight accommodations with a full plantation breakfast have been provided here in Natchez for a quarter century. Luncheons, and Dinners are welcome at the Devereaux Shields House. We will offer Special Luncheons and Five Course Candlelight Dinners for groups of up to 12 people.
