Introduction
Located in the heart of downtown Meridian, Century House Bed and Breakfast is a grand, imposing home overlooking the city. The sounds of hymn chimes can be heard pealing from a nearby church. The hum of cars passing has replaced the quiet horse and buggy of years gone by, but the grandeur of the 1902 house still remains the same and beckons you to come in and stay awhile.
Built one hundred years ago when Meridian was a booming railroad town, the architectural design of the house is neoclassical with exterior heart pine siding scored to resemble stone. The home features porches with classical columns, 12-foot ceilings, huge pocket doors, and a mixture of antique and reproduction furniture adding to the house's grandeur.
Historic Century House is within walking distance of a number of Meridian attractions, the Temple Theater (home of Mississippi's Junior Miss Pageant and the Jimmie Rogers Music Festival), the Meridian Museum of Art, the Meridian/Lauderdale Public Library, historic downtown with its many specialty shops and the soon-to-be Mississippi State University Fine Arts Center.
Our convenient location between Birmingham, Alabama and Jackson, Mississippi makes us the ideal spot for your next vacation.
Century House may be reserved for your special occasions.
We have six uniquely decorated guestrooms with private baths; some of the rooms feature whirlpool tubs for wonderful relaxation. You will have your choice of full or queen size beds. One of our guestrooms is a romantic honeymoon suite. This is a spacious two-room suite with a queen bed and heart-shaped whirlpool tub. Luxury at its finest.
Our rates are $85 to $125 for single or double occupancy. Breakfast is included.
