Introduction
Welcome to our House ~ Where Hospitality is a Way of Life
Gus and I invite you to experience our type of hospitality... warm, relaxed and at home. Even though our 1905 Victorian house features turn-of-the-century quality, we think you will find our modern amenities comfortable. Browse through the guest rooms enjoying antiques, keepsakes, and a bit of history and learn about wholistic health alternatives, plus get a massage from Trisha, who is a licensed massaged therapist.
Our four guest rooms are as diverse as we are. Wonderful outside sitting areas including a lovely gazebo.
The parlor and sitting area are for your convenience. Telephones and televisions are also available.
The B&B features four guest rooms, each with private bath and TV and a full breakfast. We are only minutes away from Cape Girardeau area attractions such as Southeast Missouri State University, Bollinger Mill and the Iron Mountain and Southern Railroad. Come relax in Jackson's small town atmosphere.
We have met some wonderful friends over the years. We look forward to accommodating and getting to know you.
Your Hosts, Gus and Trisha Wischmann

History
The Mueller Haus was built shortly after the turn of the century by H. H. Mueller Jr. He and his wife, Rilla, settled into the merchant's home around 1910 and their only daughter, Millicent, was born here in 1912.
After the death of H. H. Mueller Jr. in 1935, Rilla added an upper wing which she converted to an apartment. She rented to young couples and continued living here until her death in 1968.
Three other families owned Mueller Haus between 1969 and 1987. We purchased the home and began the Bed and Breakfast operation in September of 1988.
Your Hosts ~ Gus and Trisha Wischmann
Trisha is a homemaker and Licensed Massage Therapist. Gus, retired from the Army National Guard, is currently employed by Genesis Transportation Company. Trisha has been very active in regional tourism promotion and with the Iron Mountain and Southern excursion train.
She says, "Both Gus and I enjoy food preparation. Gus' years of experience in the grocery business and my years of family and restaurant cooking, culminate into providing you a one-of-a-kind breakfast experience. We prepare hand-picked fruits, home-baked goodies, and special gourmet entrees, all served in a fashion you will always remember. For wellness guests, we provide healthy cuisine, or if special dietary needs are required, please let us know."
