Farmington is a city in St. Francois County. It is located 60 miles south of St. Louis. Make sure to get an early reservation at a Farmington bed and breakfast to attend Country Days. In the first full weekend in June the Chamber of Commerce proudly presents Country Days, the area’s largest and most exciting event. With free concerts by major Nashville entertainers, excellent regional and local bands, it’s a music lover’s dream. Country Days features events for the entire family, including a huge parade, fantastic games, a bed race, a queen pageant, arts and crafts, a talent competition, moonlight bike ride, a pet show and so much more. During your stay at a Farmington inn visit Elephant Rocks State Park, a volcanic formation created 1.5 billion years ago. In addition to the unique topography of this landscape, there are 30 picnic sites. B&B guests will find this area teeming with recreational opportunities. The Farmington Parks and Recreation Department holds a number of community events, like the Wiggle and Giggle Fishing Derby, Winter Wonderland and other family activities. There are 15 parks in the community offering sites for fishing, playgrounds, ball and soccer fields, tennis, volleyball, basketball, picnicking and BBQs. One park in particular is uniquely dedicated to fans of skateboarding, in-line skating and BMX riding.
