Introduction

Owners, Pat and Linda Kelly, invite you to stay at the Wenneson Inn, in Peterson, Minnesota. You will find Peterson along the Root River in beautiful Bluff Country. Peterson is the center point for the Root River Trail, miles of paved trail which follow the old railroad line and connect to the Harmony-Preston Trail, an additional 20 miles of paved trail. Bike, Hike, Roller blade, Cross country ski or snowmobile on the trail. The Root River offers canoeing, kayaking, tubing and fishing.

While you're in the area, visit the nearby towns. Peterson is just 4 miles west of Rushford and 14 miles east of Lanesboro. Plan on spending time, explore caves, take an Amish tour, enjoy live theater, shop, eat, play hard, then return to the peaceful quiet town of Peterson, home of the Wenneson Inn.

About the Wenneson. (Known For Its Cleanness)

As you enter the front door, you're instantly surprised. You will find this 1904 former hotel fully restored and renovated, mixing historic charm with the conveniences of today's world. The Inn contains 9 guest rooms. Five in the main house and four in the carriage house. All rooms have private baths (two with double whirlpools). Enjoy our signature soap/shampoo made just for the Wenneson from neighboring Lanesboro. Wrap yourself in our selected "Turkish Towels" pour your favorite beverage in the provided wine glasses, then relax.

The Teal Room 		Remember you're a free sprit. You choose the privacy of your suite, sit outside on the large deck and enjoy the sounds of the fountain, stroll around the quiet streets of Peterson, (you may be lucky enough to catch a ball game just a block away). Perhaps you want to sit in one of our two parlors, or sneak a peek at TV.

For our guest's comfort and convenience, we are pleased to offer a complimentary continental breakfast each morning. Coffee, teas are available in the lobby, bright and early. Belgium Waffles, fruits (in season) breads, cereals, yogurt, Lefsa - a traditional soft Norwegian flatbread "made locally" and innkeepers choice.

While your out and about, your suite will be freshened, unless you request "privacy please."

  • Sunday through Thursday, Stay with us the first night and receive 15% off your second and following nights. This does not include holidays or holiday long weekends.
  • Winter Rates (November through April): Take $20 off regular rates Monday through Sunday. This does not include holidays or holiday long weekends.
  • Gift Certificates: A perfect gift for any occasion. You may order gift certificates by calling (507)875-2587. All certificates are mailed Priority mail.
  • Deposits: Our deposit is the equivalent of a one night stay and is required at the time of reservation. We accept cash or check only. We do not accept credit cards at this time.

Of all the places I have ever stayed (which are many), this is the most charming and lovely!
