Nestled on over an acre of park-like grounds in Duluth's historic mansion district, the A.G. Thomson House is a graceful 1909 Dutch Colonial designed by a prominent architect of the era. Set on a quiet dead-end street, the bed and breakfast inn is just seven blocks from Lake Superior and Duluth’s scenic Lakewalk, yet less than three miles from downtown and the Canal Park entertainment district. The premier location also is only a few blocks from the newest segment of the Superior Hiking Trail, and offers a convenient base for exploring some of Minnesota’s most beautiful state parks and other attractions along the spectacular North Shore Scenic Drive. Our Inn offers guests the choice of seven beautiful, unique, and classic guest rooms. The Main House presents you with the choice of four rooms while our Carriage House holds three rooms; one of which is our finest Lake Superior Suite. Our guest rooms will beckon with warm, inviting, and comfortable details sure to please. Each of our lovely rooms offer a private bath with shower, A/C, fireplace, LCD HDTV/DVD, CD player/radio and free high speed wireless internet access. Six of our seven rooms have a double whirlpool tub to help you relax and unwind. Several invite you in with incredible views of the sun rising or setting over our "big" lake. Morning in Duluth is a glorious time of day! At the A.G. Thomson, breakfast is the "icing on the cake" of a beautiful beginning. We offer a sumptuous homemade, multi-course breakfast for you to savor beginning at 9 am served in our inviting, sun-drenched dining room. We will serve one of our two special blends of locally roasted, fair trade Alakef Coffee uniquely designed just for the A.G. Thomson House. You will also enjoy an assortment of fine teas, hot chocolate, and apple cider. Coffee and hot water will be available in the dining room by 7 am. It's your vacation - so at the A.G. Thomson House you are always welcome to sleep in if you choose. Our multi-course breakfast is prepared and served individually in our dining room, so we ask that guests who plan to dine join us by 9 am. You may pre-arrange the delivery of a continental breakfast to your room. If possible, we may be able to offer delivery of a full breakfast for an additional charge. We will be happy to discuss these options prior to arrival. |
