Introduction
Creating tomorrow's memories in the elegance of days gone by....
This impressive Italianate Victorian main house boasts five elegant guest rooms with numerous amenities and attention to detail. The sprawling grounds are graced by the mighty black walnut trees that James Mulvey brought back from the Civil War in 1863. We are also reintroducing the beautiful stone carriage house suites next door to the main house. For those of you who have already stayed in one of these two stunning suites, you will be thrilled that they are again available to our guests. You will enjoy all of the amenities and luxuries as guests in the main house, as well as additional seclusion of that property.
This is an enchanting place with a magnificent Grueby fireplace in the spacious grand parlor, arts and crafts dining room, and exquisite Victorian porch extending into the gardens. Each of our guest rooms has a private bath, whirlpool tub, cd player and radio, and Victorian bed. Several rooms have gas fireplaces and balconies. The entire inn is furnished with beautiful period art and antiques. A delicious gourmet breakfast is served each morning in our elegant dining room, or during the summer months in the porch overlooking our extensive gardens.
First-time guests at the Mulvey are amazed at the privacy they are offered here, yet with such personalized service. On weekends, tea, wine and refreshments greet guests upon check-in. Breakfast is a gourmet meal served in the luxury of our formal dining room, or on the screen porch overlooking the spacious grounds. Unseen amenities such as Beautyrest luxury mattresses enhance your rest. Each guest room has a private bath, double whirlpool tub, and cd player. Plush and thick bathrobes are provided in each room. Several rooms have gas fireplaces as well as kissing balconies. A large collection of the innkeeper's books are available for guest use, there are a number of board games, and a portable dvd player is available upon request for a small fee.
The double parlors provide opportunity for conversation and reflection, and the screen porch is an
enchanting setting for summer breakfasts overlooking the lovely gardens. The dining room was remodeled
in the Craftsman style in 1905, and its Lincrusta wall covering is a stunning complement to the oak wainscotting.

I am a former art teacher, as well as an avid reader. So the inn is scattered with the art I have collected, as well as my personal books that I will share with guests. As a long-time Stillwater resident, I can help you plan an adventure on a nearby bicycling trail, recommend one of the superior restaurants downtown, or give you information on any number of activities our wonderful community has to offer. My family and I look forward to providing the environment that will help you to create lifelong memories in our beautiful inn.... Cynthia Kneisl
