The Magic Door is a stately, three story Victorian located on a spacious corner lot, just four blocks from downtown Northfield, Minnesota. It was built in 1899 by Henry Boe, the owner of one of Northfield's first hardware stores. The house has been both a private residence and a triplex before we purchased it in February 2001 to create our bed & breakfast.

The house offers a peaceful haven, but with all of the modern conveniences you need to be pampered; including private baths. We serve complimentary wine and appetizers on Friday and Saturday nights and a gourmet breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Weekdays we serve an exceptional breakfast and afternoon fresh baked cookies.

Travel information about Kenyon, Minnesota

Kenyon is a city in Goodhue County. There are many festivals held in Kenyon like the Renaissance Festival which offers a middle ages re-enactment every year in the area. Also the Goodhue County Fair is held every August near the area with rides, food and exhibits. Another popular attraction is the Nerstrand Woods State Parke which is an outdoor recreational area near town. If you are looking to cool off then the Kenyon Municipal Swimming Pool is the place for you and known as the top watering hole in Kenyon. Restaurants that you may want to try would be Mercel's Restaurant, rated the best causal diner in town or The Kenyon Grill which offers the best steaks in town. For accommodations, stay at a Kenyon bed and breakfast or a Kenyon Inn. You can't go wrong with a B&B.
