The Newnham home was built around the turn of the century, purchased by Harry Newnham, one of the "town fathers" in the early 1920s and had been occupied by his descendants until the spring of 1985. Its tasteful architecture was typical of the era in which it was built. The exterior of the home is graced with a wrap around porch, complete with gingerbread carvings in its corners and a porch swing for beautiful summer nights. Inside you will find spacious rooms embellished with carved woodwork, beautiful oak floors, graced with oval braided rugs and large windows. Period style furniture and family antiques add a decorative touch to its five bedrooms, sitting room, dining room and country style kitchen.

Nestled in the back of the main house is a quaint and comfortable double suite cottage. One suite has a kitchen fully equipped, fireplace stove in the living room, cable TV, and a bedroom with private bath. The other suite has a large sitting area with a fireplace, cable TV, and bedroom area with private bath.

The Newnham SunCatcher Inn is located on a secluded lot in the heart of Saugatuck's business district. We are one block from all the shops and restaurants and just minutes from Lake Michigan beaches and recreational facilities.

A feature to the home is a large sun deck out back with a hot tub and a heated in ground 16' x 38' swimming pool! A full breakfast is served from 9:30 - 10:30 AM ET in the dining room or on the deck by the pool for all guests.

Gift certificates are available for rooms or special events such as Murder Mysteries and themed progressive dinners with other inns. Newnham SunCatcher is also a member of the Michigan Lake to Lake Bed & Breakfast Association.
