Introduction
This 1906 Dutch farmhouse features comfy guest rooms with private baths, queen-size beds, cable TV and "wake-up" coffee or tea. Antique furniture and knotty pine floors combine with doll and glassware collections to bring you back to simpler times.
This sturdy Dutch farmhouse sits where it once was profusely surrounded by brilliantly blooming gladiola and mum plants. Flower farms were almost indigenous to the area and traces of the old foundation for the bulb and seed storage building are still in evidence today.
Purchased in 1973 by its present owner, the house had withstood the presence of many large families and although very strong, was in disrepair. Thus began a long rejuvenation project. In May of 1997 (after the owner retired from 35 years of teaching), it opened as a Bed and Breakfast. And once again, the house was filled with many wonderful people.
Breathe in cool lake breezes from the quaint front porch while relaxing on antique wicker furniture or head for the rustic patio and gazeebo in the back where sun or shade is your choice. Birds and rabbits welcome your presence on nearly an acre of fresh greenery.
We'll serve you a yummy breakfast in the dining room at 9 A.M. You'll start with a frosty glass of juice and, perhaps, a frozen fruit compote or a berry and cream treat. Follow that with crusty French Toast and meat combination or a poofy egg soufflé in its own ramekin. Add a double sized muffin, and you're all set. Plenty of coffee or tea to sip while finishing that breakfast conversation.
