Nature Lover's Paradise

The Listening Inn is a superior handcrafted log cabin located on 560 acres of giant pine trees, open meadows, fabulous hardwood trees, and miles of trails with rolling terrain. The wonderful Peterson Creek passes through our land to the Paint River. The inn is located a short drive north of Crystal Falls, Michigan, situated on the end of a country road.

After your gourmet breakfast, a pleasant tour of the upper Michigan north woods is available on groomed hiking trails. On these excursions you will soon see why we have named our lodge The Listening Inn. In this nature lover's paradise, you may have the opportunity to see deer, black bear, eagles, owls, many songbirds, beaver, otter, coyotes, wolves, and possibly a moose. Watch as bluebirds, utilizing the nesting boxes around our garden and orchard, dart about to catch food to feed their young. Listen to the Sandhill Cranes as they make their presence known by their prehistoric sounding cries in the field on the "home 40". Search for wild orchids growing along Peterson Creek that meander through the property or, better yet, take a stroll through the "big pine 40" and try to guess how old they are! Day trips to several area wilderness waterfalls are also available. The wonders of nature are what make upper Michigan someplace special. When your day is done, you can curl up by the fireplace or sit on a deck waiting for the evening star to make its appearance while the spring peepers and chorus frogs serenade you. If you are really lucky, you may see the spectacular Northern Lights streaking overhead. The Listening Inn is proud to offer quality cross-country skiing, right out the door on our 14k of Groomed classical trails. Rentals available. Snowshoe trails are separate trails and Rentals available. Downhill skiers will enjoy Ski Brule, another fine facility close by. If golfing is your favorite activity, you are in luck. We have 4 courses to offer, including the famous George Young challenge.

We cater to large groups up to 150 or small gatherings, inside or outside. We can help
make your day a little easier. Tents are available. Catering can also be provided.
