Laurium is a village in Calumet Township, Houghton County in Michigan, in the center of the Keweenaw Peninsula, and is home to many fine B&B establishments. Terryberry Gallery is open Monday through Friday, but you must call for weekend and evening hours. It is located on the lower level of the St. Cecilia Music Society building not too far from a Laurium bed and breakfast and Laurium inn. The Terryberry Gallery is an artist's delight and gallery goer's dream, featuring area and international artists in exhibits that rotate monthly. The Terryberry Gallery is a member of the Grand Rapids Gallery Association and hosts Veen Observatory Public Viewing and Tours. The recommended route to the Veen is Cascade Road south to the traffic light at 36th Street. Go east on 36th Street four miles to Kissing Rock Road, and then north on Kissing Rock one third mile. Coppertown USA Mining Museum Complex is an exhibit that include artifacts from the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company. Houghton County Historical Museum preserves a one-room schoolhouse, church, mill office, railroad depot and fire hall. Toni's Country Kitchen has great food! At Shelly's Place, the service and food are excellent.
