Introduction

The White Cedar Inn is a century-old historic Victorian-Era Inn located just a short, two-block stroll along brick-paved sidewalks from LL Bean's flagship store and all of Freeport's brand-name outlets. If shopping is not your cup of tea, we are 10 - 20 minutes by car to beaches, museums, hiking trails, birding spots and many winter activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating and sledding. Spring, summer and fall are perfect seasons to bicycle to nearby town beaches and along scenic bike paths. As seen in Down East magazine (Dec 2006) and Everyday with Rachael Ray (Dec/Jan 2007).

Our seven bedrooms, all with private baths, air conditioning and some with gas fireplaces, are spacious and furnished with antiques and quilts. Guestrooms feature king, queen, double and twin-size beds in configurations to suit most traveling companions. Our entire Inn is non-smoking.

Click here for guest rooms & rates 		Breakfast is served in the sunroom overlooking the gardens and consists of a fruit dish, and a hot entree such as Strawberry-stuffed French Toast or Maine Blueberry Pancakes. In the afternoon we have cookies, brownies or Fairy Cakes for refreshment. Coffee and tea are always available.

This historic New England house was once the boyhood home of Arctic explorer Donald B. MacMillan. Now home to the White Cedar Inn, many of the Inn's seven rooms were named with reference to MacMillan, his relatives and his famed boat, the Bowdoin.
