Introduction
Escape to our Seascape...
The Inn at Southwest is an 1884 Victorian Bed and Breakfast that overlooks the serene waters of Southwest Harbor, Maine, near Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The Southwest Harbor Maine Inn provides a charming, relaxing setting, and is the perfect lodging choice for exploring Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island. We take great pride and joy in welcoming so many of the same guests back year after year.
As one of the most photographed inns on Mt. Desert Island, you'll enjoy the beautiful architectural details of the 1800's. The wicker filled verandah is the perfect spot to enjoy our gardens or watch boats slip in and out of Southwest Harbor, home to Hinckley and Morris Yachts. The guest rooms within the Southwest Harbor Maine Bed and Breakfast are spacious and comfortable, all with private bathrooms, and each thoughtfully decorated in a distinctive style. We serve you a delicious gourmet breakfast every morning, and afternoon refreshments to welcome you back after your day's activities.
We are delighted to help guests discover the 'quiet-side' of Mt. Desert Island. Beautiful Acadia National Park is five minutes from our doorstep, and offers spectacular coastlines, miles of hiking and biking trails, canoeing and kayaking, swimming in crystal clear waters, and countless photo opportunities.
In the evening, you can walk to a waterfront restaurant (no visit is complete without eating a Maine lobster pulled right from the ocean!), enjoy the Bar Harbor nightlife, or simply relax by the fireplace or star gaze from the porch.
Our accommodations are a great alternative to other lodging options. We look forward to welcoming you as our guest!
