Our bed and breakfast offers beautiful room accommodations. A whimsical Queen Anne Victorian with a three-story turret, quirky gables, and adjoining 18th Century cottage offers fabulous weekend getaways in Maine. There is a hint of a tilt to the floors and doors and with all the delightful nooks and crannies, all 16 rooms are unique.
Our bed and breakfast will provide all of your lodging needs including a pet-friendly room. You will feel comfortably at home with the inn’s charming mix of antiques and collectibles. The rooms are furnished with attention to detail: antiques, vintage lithographs, luxury linens, down pillows, and old-fashioned floral coverlets. Most rooms have king-sized beds; several have claw foot tubs and fireplaces, and one has a flower-bedecked balcony.
The inn has partnered with Savvy Rest Organic Mattresses in an ongoing effort to promote a green environment at the inn. Savvy Rest produces mattresses that are nontoxic, healthful and comfortable using natural latex, organic cotton and organic savvy wool.
The inn is open from May through October. Our base rates are $95 - $265 per night during the high season with possible lower rates available for extended stays and off-season visits. Our prices include a private bath, full country breakfast, afternoon refreshments, bicycles, Wi-Fi, and guest computer.
The cottage is set in the garden surrounded by tall trees. There are five rooms in the cottage and several of those are pet-friendly. Please call ahead so we can advise if these rooms at our Acadia lodging are available. The "cottage," as we affectionately call it, is a Federalist-style home and considered more in keeping with the rest of Castine's architecture. A Maine shipwright from Acadia built it in 1791 with all wooden pegs and no nails, as was the custom of the day. The descendants of the shipwright later built the Hotel Pentagoet in 1894 for the steamship companies that brought overnight guests to the coast of Maine making stops in Portland, Camden, Castine, Bar Harbor, and Acadia.
