Introduction

Benjamin F. Packard House - Bath, Maine Benjamin F. Packard House is a gracious Italianate home, originally built as a Georgian style home in 1790, located in the heart of Bath's Historic District, one block from the expansive Kennebec River. Purchased by Benjamin F. Packard in the mid-19th century, this home remained in his family for five generations. Packard, an illustrious shipwright, was a partner in one of the most successful ship-building companies in the world.

Today, the Benjamin F. Packard house features period furnishings in the guestrooms including the parlor and dining room. Each guestroom has either a queen or king-size bed, private bath and air conditioning. A full gourmet breakfast is served each morning in the dining room and guests can partake of tea each afternoon.

Benjamin F. Packard House is ideally located so you can walk the Tour of Historic Sea Captains' Homes, visit the Library Park for "Gazebo Concerts," and peruse the restaurants and shops on Front Street. The Chocolate Church Center for the Performing Arts and Gallery and the Maine Maritime Museum are also close by. Popham Beach and Reid State Park offer you a choice of two of the finest beaches with dunes and rocky cliffs. Bowdoin College Museums and the Maine State Music Theater in Brunswick, Freeport's L.L. Bean, shops and outlets, Wiscasset Village and Boothbay Harbor are all favorite places to visit.
