Introduction
Welcome to... The Maples Inn!
The Maples Inn will offer you the feeling of being a resident of Bar Harbor at the turn of the century. Come and enjoy the simpler life of another time and leave the stress and care of today's world behind.
Built in early 1900, the Inn originally housed the wealthy summer visitors to Mount Desert Island. It is located on a quiet, residential, tree-lined street. Perfectly located away from the traffic of busy Bar Harbor, yet within walking distance of attractive boutiques, intimate restaurants, and the surrounding sea.
Acadia National Park, just five minutes away, offers a year round wilderness playground. There are nearly 150 miles of hiking trails and carriage roads to enjoy. Come and watch the breathtaking sunset from atop Cadillac Mountain or the crashing waves at Schooner Head. In town, biking, kayaking, whale watching, nature cruises, and many other activities are a short walk from our front door. We'll be happy to assist in planning your days on our island.
The Maples Inn has been fortunate in receiving recognition in many publications...

The Inn has six distinctly decorated rooms, all with queen size beds and private baths. For the perfect romantic getaway, we suggest reserving our White Birch Suite with its wood burning fireplace and canopy bed or our Red Oak "tree house" Room with its private deck. Relax in our guest living room with a working wood burning fireplace or Library with its display of antique cameras, books, and games. All our rooms are appointed with antiques and reproductions, down comforters, and A/C.
