Introduction
Londonderry Inn is a circa 1803 13 room Maine farmhouse situated on 10 acres of fields and woodlands. The inn was actually the first "bed & breakfast"...
... in Belfast. Back in the 1950's it was called "Sanker Farm Overnight Tourist House" and offered "heat and modern bath" as its amenities!
The Inn has operated as Londonderry Inn for over 20 years. Marsha and Fletcher Oakes purchased the inn in 1997, lovingly restored the entire house and reopened in May 1998.
Belfast is an ideal place for a vacation, as its central Maine coast location puts you within 1 1/2 hours of Camden, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Bangor, and the many lakes and parks in the region. Take a schooner ride around beautiful Penobscot Bay, or visit the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport and Fort Knox in Prospect, or simply browse through the many fine shops, galleries, and antique stores in the area. Enjoy fresh Maine lobster and other fresh New England seafood at the area's many fine restaurants.
Our 5 well-appointed guest rooms and modern private baths are decorated with both antiques and newer furnishings and art, designed to comfort the body and please the eye. All guest rooms have cable TV/VCR, phone, A/C, mini-fridge and exquisitely comfortable mattresses and pillows.
Enjoy a movie from our extensive video library, or relax on our screened farmers porch, sun porch, deck, fire-placed living room, comfortable reception room, or large fire-placed country kitchen. In the morning join us for a three course farm-style breakfast, designed to fuel you for the day's activities.
In the evening join the Innkeepers and other guests for beverages and dessert, including Londonderry Inn's famous chocolate chip cookies.
