Introduction
After exploring Freeport and Mid-Coast Maine's historic towns and villages, what better way to continue your stroll through the past than by staying...
... with us in a former Sea Captain's vintage 1848 Greek Revival Cape home, where you will be treated with warmth, hospitality, and a delicious Gourmet Country Breakfast.
The moment you walk through our doors, you'll experience a unique blend of
sophisticated Maine hospitality and quiet professionalism - all built on a timeless tradition of excellence and a sincere commitment to serve our guests, our community, and our profession.
The Inn is located on one acre of US Route 1, a quiet and residential section of Freeport, just two blocks on foot from historic attractions, museums, art galleries, restaurants, unique antique shops, and over 170 retail and factory outlet stores including L.L. Bean.
After a day of antiquing, shopping in Freeport, and exploring the coast, come back to the Inn to refresh and enjoy afternoon snacks, cookies, brownies, bundt cakes, iced tea and fresh, homemade lemonade. Or take a swim in our heated in-ground pool - enjoy a long, and relaxing hot soak in our enclosed "Hot Springs Spa" outside next to the pool. (May 15 - Sep 30)
Don't want to go out to dinner? We have provided a fully landscaped and
bricked patio area on the grounds with picnic tables and a gas grill to cook up your own lobster, steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs, or fresh seafood from Freeport's wharf. After dinner, play some croquet, or simply relax in our Adirondack chairs in the cool evening Maine breeze.
Pick out a book or magazine from our library and settle down by the fireplace for a quiet afternoon of relaxation with a complimentary glass of sherry. Watch a movie, play some chess, cards or backgammon in our game room lounge . . .
Whatever you choose to do, just remember to "Gather in the spirit of Mid-Coast
Maine by making your reservations at one of the oldest and finest Historic Inns
in New England - the Freeport Clipper Inn!"
