Mid-coast Maine has long been known for a tradition of ship building and the gracious homes of the ship's captains. Located in the twin villages of Newcastle and Damariscotta, The Flying Cloud Bed and Breakfast is proud to be part of that longstanding tradition. From the casually elegant living room, with it's triple hung floor to ceiling windows and warming fireplace to the serene screen porch overlooking the gardens with birdfeeders and backyard hammock, The Flying Cloud welcomes you.

We'll be happy to help with your plans in this lovely mid-coast Maine area. If shopping is your "bag", it's a quick 35 minutes to Freeport and L. L. Bean as well as the outlets. Looking for works of art? We have plenty, starting with The Round Top Center for the Arts in Damariscotta or the Farnworth Art Museum in Rockland. Hiking? Dodge Point and Great Salt Bay Preserve are 3 miles away. Take the ferry from New Harbor to spend the day on Monhegan Island and enjoy birdwatching, hiking and art galleries.

All of our guest rooms have private baths...four rooms have beautiful water views - the Damariscotta River and Harbor - one overlooks the back garden and woods. Our guest rooms are named for the more legendary of the Flying Cloud's ports-of-call...New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Melbourne and London. The cities for which our rooms are named were among the exciting and important tourist and commercial destinations around the world in the mid-nineteenth century.

Quiet Season Rates: (October 31-May 14) $85 to $150
High Season Rates: (May 15-October 30) $100-$200

A major credit card will hold your reservation.
Full refund if cancellation is received before fourteen days prior to arrival date.
Fewer than fourteen days:
        If room is re-rented, full refund.
        If room is not re-rented, full charge will apply.
