Distant Sands Bed & Breakfast offers four beautifully appointed bedrooms in a restored 18th century farmhouse. The house abuts twenty-two acres of conservation land overlooking the Ogunquit River and the ocean. Enjoy a full breakfast in the morning and leisurely walks to Footbridge Beach. Marginal Way, Perkins Cove and three miles of sandy white beach are only a trolley stop away.

Our lodging accommodations offer queen or king beds with newly renovated private baths, air conditioning and color cable TV. Open year round. Did you ever have a true lifelong dream? Well I have! For the past twenty some years I have said I wanted to open a small intimate Bed and Breakfast in New England. This past spring I realized my dream with the purchase of the beautiful Distant Sands Bed and Breakfast. I have been fortunate to travel all over the world and stay in various inns. From each I brought back ideas, concepts, and visions of the Inn I would someday acquire.

My name is Bob Rush, or as I now prefer "Innkeeper Bob." I have extensive background in major hotel management as well as property management. I grew up in a community that catered to vacationers and have never lost sight of that concept. When you are a guest in my home, I mean it! There are no "rules," "off limits," etc. I have created an environment to have all guests feel pampered, spoiled, relaxed and foremost "comfortable." I was recently quoted in a local publication that sums up my philosophy of running an Inn. "I want people to feel as if they are visiting a good friend." I am looking forward to meeting all new people as this chapter in my life unfolds.
