Bed and Breakfast Home | USA | Maine  | Camden | Captain Swift Inn
Camden, Maine (ME) Bed and Breakfast: There is always something to do in the area, no matter what the season. Summer and autumn are, of course, the most popular times of the year. Not only for the beautiful weather of the mid-coast, but also for the activities available. Picnicking and hiking on Mount Battie are only the beginning. Rent a kayak and paddle on the quiet, crystal clear waters of Lake Megunticook, or off shore to the many islands outside the harbor. Swim in the warm waters of the lakes or in the brisk waters of the Atlantic.

How To Find Us

From the South:
Drive north on Interstate 95. In Maine, I-95 becomes the Maine Turnpike. Just beyond Portland, take Exit 52. Continue north on I-295 to Brunswick and take Exit 28 onto Coastal Route 1. From there, follow Route 1 north for about an hour, passing through several towns until you arrive in Camden.
Alternate Route:
Six miles north of Waldoboro, turn off Route 1 onto Route 90. Follow Route 90 until it intersects Route 1 again, at Rockport. Turn left onto Route 1 and continue north to Camden.
In Camden:
We are 1.7 miles north of the Rockport Route 90 Route 1 intersection. You will see our white-clapboard inn and our sign with a copper schooner on it on the right side of the road, at 72 Elm Street.

From the North & Bangor Airport:
Depending upon which access road you take out of the airport, you will need to take either route 222 East or route 2 East. Both roads will intersect, at different points, with route 9 and route 1A. Go South towards Hampden.
At Hampden, route 9 will split with route 1A. Continue on 1A to Winterport, Frankfort, and Stockton Springs.
At Stockton Springs, route 1A becomes route 1 and route 3. Continue on route 1 and route 3 through Searsport into Belfast. Route 3 will branch west, but you will stay on route 1 going south. Continue through Northport, Lincolnville and Camden.
In Camden:
We are on the south side of the center of town. In Camden, you will have gone through a blinking light (route 52 & route 1, where High St. becomes Main St., by the library), at the North end of town, and at the other end of town a blinking light (corner of route 1, which is Elm St. at this point, and Union St.).

There is a white church on your right and a Stop 'n' Go gas station on your left. We are the sixth house on your left, from this corner. We are the next house after Taber Forge. Our sign has a copper schooner in it and the house is a WHITE FEDERAL with 12 over 12 windows. We have plenty of off-street parking. Pull in and turn around and then angle park on the side.
