A former sea captain's home built in 1830, Inn Britannia is located on Penobscot Bay in the historic seafaring village of Searsport. Woods and gardens, a stroll to the bay, firelight comfort, fine wine and first-class cuisine, Inn Britannia beautifully blends old world antiques, modern luxuries, warmth, hospitality and graciousness for your comfort and satisfaction!

I nn Britannia has 7 spacious air conditioned guest rooms, each with private bath. Decorated with style and comfort, the rooms are beautifully furnished with antiques and genuine English memorabilia.

In the true English tradition, a fully cooked, multi-course breakfast is served in the romantic, firelit dining room. The wonderful menu with a gourmet flare includes such delectable offerings as Cornish Baked Eggs, Queen Victoria's Pancake, Double-decker Baked Stuffed Toast, and Devon Cream Pie. Fresh baked breads, muffins, scones, popovers and crumpets are also served, as well as fresh fruit, juice and freshly ground coffee or imported English tea

The Drawing Room is Inn Britannia's first floor common room. Furnished with hand- selected antiques, keeping comfort in mind, this is a perfect place to curl up in front of the antique woodstove to read a good book, or write in your travel journal at the handsome writing desk.

Inn Britannia's beautiful gardens and natural woods are the only "Backyard Wildlife Habitat" certified by the National Wildlife Federation on Maine's mid-coast. You might quickly spot deer or fox as you stroll in our woods or as you walk down our private lane to Penobscot Bay. With our numerous birdfeeders and fountains you are sure to enjoy the acrobatic aerial flight of dozens of goldfinches and the amazing graceful dance of the ruby-throated hummingbirds that nest around the inn. We are visited by Ruffled grouse, turkey, the beautiful red cardinal, the indigo bunting and several varieties of warblers.
