The Brewster Inn is located in Dexter, Maine which is less than an
hour's drive to Bangor and the beautiful Moosehead Lake and Mt Katahdin region of Maine. The Inn is perfect for special
events, parties and weddings. We also offer the Inn as facility space
for corporate meetings and group retreats of all kinds.

The Brewster Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a former Maine Governer and Government Senators family home. If you ever saw the the "Golden Globe" award winning film "The Aviator" starrring Leonardo De Caprio as Howard Hughes then you will of seen Alan Alda from MASH playing the Senator that was in charge of the Government task force that tried to bring Howard Hughes down. In that film Alan Alda played Senator and also Governor Owen Brewster and its his home we have so its pretty historic. Our home was shown on TV across the USA on HGTV In June 2008 on their show "If Walls Could Talk".

Take a drive or bicycle ride around the area and experience an abundance of scenic views from lake Wassookeag, charming farms and beautiful countryside.

In the cooler months enjoy activities such as our winter town festival complete with horse drawn sled rides. Snowmobiling, snow shoeing, skiing and ice fishing are also popular activities. In the warmer months enjoy Dexter's public parks and beach, water sports, fishing and more...
In warm weather, relax on our covered porches and enjoy over an acre of rose and perennial gardens, or play tennis on our grass court. In the winter, curl up in the living room window seat and watch the snow fall, or sit by the fire and indulge in novels and hot chocolate. The sunny curved window of the Conservatory permits fresh flowers year-round.
Dexter, Maine offers a small town ambiance and is enviably located in The Maine Highlands between the Maine coast (approximately 40 miles to Belfast) and mountains and lakes (approximately 40 miles to Moosehead Lake and Mt Katahdin). Guests can take a picnic lunch and explore the countryside, or walk to antique stores and local Wassookeag Lake. Dexter is also on the Maine snowmobile trails.

Our guest rooms range from expansive to cozy, and each offers a distinct personality. Some feature fireplaces, original wood paneling, window seats and original tile bathrooms. Others offer a view of the gardens or a whirlpool bath for two. One handicapped accessible room is available. The Brewster Inn welcomes children of all ages. We cannot accept visiting pets, but will be happy to arrange boarding at a nearby pet motel.
