The Cape House, a suite located in a building next to the Inn is available as a getaway year-round, including the Thanksgiving & Christmas Holidays. Winter rates apply.
It is spacious, light and airy with natural pine floors, cathedral ceilings, a raised hearth fireplace, and fourposter king sized bed. It is a perfect retreat for private get aways, small families, or for those who want to entertain friends in their own quarters.
B&B Rates for Two in The Cape House Range from $235-$285
Special Winter rates $160-$200 (3-day minimum stay). X-country skiing is great this year at Acadia; ....but then so is the raised hearth fireplace in the Cape House!
The Cape House
Room 1:
This pretty room on the 1st floor and front corner of the Inn is furnished with antique twin iron and brass beds. Its tile bath has a tub-shower combination, window AC.

Room 2:
This "demi-suite" on the 2nd floor has a sitting room adjoining the bed chamber. The sitting room is furnished with an antique settee, desk and chairs and the demi-suite is complimented by warm oriental motif wallpaper. Both rooms have naturally finished pumpkin-pine wide plank floors. The bed is a 4-poster double and the bath has a tile shower and no tub. Window AC.

Room 3:
This second floor room has windows on the south and west side and is decorated in soft pale yellow hues. It also has a sitting area with an over stuffed settee. The bed is queen size and the old-fashiond "claw-foot tub" is perfect for that long awaited soak. (Yes, the tub has a shower attachment). The room is centrally air-conditioned.

Room 4:
A large room on the 2nd floor with matching wing-back chairs, a tall, king-size 4-poster cherry bed and wide naturally finished original plank pine floor. The fireplace is wood-burning and of course we'll keep you supplied! The room has central AC for those very occasional hot days in August. Established c.1927 as the first bathroom in the Inn! The bathroom has a pedestal sink and an old-fashioned claw- foot deep soaking tub with a shower attachment.

Room 5:
A second floor front corner room with views of the village. The room features wide plank, painted floors, a wood burning fireplace flanked by 6 over 4 windows, a queen size bed with antique headboard, wing back chairs and rough white plaster walls. The room may be cooled with a window AC. The bath has a tub and a shower combination.

Room 6:
The rooms in the Inn have been "numbered" since 1840. If we ever decide to name them, this one would be called the "Wallace Nutting Eastlake" room. (There are several prints by Wallace Nutting in the room). The antique walnut bed is queen-size and the marble-top dresser, drop-leaf table and chairs are Eastlake. The serene wallpaper is toile. There are 4 original 6 over 6 windows in this sunny room. The bath is ceramic tile with a tub-shower and the fireplace is a Rumford. (Sorry, we have not put it into operation). The room has central AC. There are nice views of the garden from this 2nd floor room.

Room 7:
This charming room on the 2nd floor is the smallest of the Inn's rooms. It has a queen bed with a brass headboard and a bath with a tile shower but no tub, AC.

Room 8:
This bright and sunny 2nd floor large room has a total of eight 6-over-6 windows (including the bathroom) on three outside walls facing S., E. and W.
Views are of the perennials garden and of the village.
The room is furnished with a king 4-poster cherry bed, comfortable wing back chairs and a writing secretary. the room is centrally air-conditioned and the bath has a ceramic tile shower and no tub.

Room 9: (Suite)
A bright third floor two room suite with five roof window skylights, two windows, wide, naturally finished wide plank pine floors and central air-conditioning. The spacious garret suite has a large room with a queen size bed and sitting area and a second room with an antique brass single bed and sitting area. The bath has a tub-shower.

Room 10:
One of our favorite rooms with oriental motif wallpaper and naturally finished wide pine plank floor. It has a wood burning fireplace with a neoclassical mantle. This 1st floor room is furnished with a queen-size bed, comfortable easy chairs and a large bath with a tub-shower combination. It has a room AC. We believe the room was once a parlor where important visitors were received and entertained.

Room 11:
This large 1st floor room with a fireplace (not working) looks out to the garden and the back of the Inn. It has a painted wide-plank floor but the paint has been removed from all window trim and fireplace mantle to reveal the warm natural pine colors. The room has a 4-poster pencil pine queen-size bed and room AC. The tile bath has a tub-shower combination.
