Guildive Cruises
Join us in Lincolnville and sail across Penobscot Bay to Castine, Maine with Guildive Cruises. The guildive is under its winter covers and will be fully operational Summer 2009 for cruises to Castine. The Guildive was previously know as Sixpence, Istar II and originally launched as Restless. Built in 1934 and numbered hull 664 by the Wheeler Shipyard of Brooklyn, New York for Stuyvesant Fish. She has had 9 owners, one of whom was the United States Coast Guard under the United States of America War Shipping Administration from 1942 to 1945. Designed by William Hand Jr., the vessel is alive with the character of its previous owners. To celebrate the ship's spirit, its new captains, Zander and Kate have offered her the name Guildive - a noun used in old French Caribbean Islands to name a rum distillery.
