The fastest way from points south (Portland, Boston) is to take 95 North to Augusta, taking exit 113 east to Belfast (about 1 hour from Augusta, depending on traffic). Continue straight at the Rt. 1 intersection to the downtown area. Turn right onto Church Street at the 5-way intersection. (You have the right of way traveling in this direction. The Post Office is on your right. Too hard a right turn will land you in the Post Office parking lot. Not sharp enough and you continue on High Street.) Follow Church Street for three blocks. The Alden House is on your left. Turn left onto Park Street. Our parking area is adjacent to the barn. If you are traveling north up Rt. 1, take the first exit on your right when you get to Belfast. This exit is well marked. Follow the signs to the downtown waterfront district. Continue about one mile. When you come to the flashing light, bear left on Church Street. The White House B&B is on this corner. Continue for about 1/4 mile. The Alden House will be on your right. Turn right on Park Street and look for our guest parking area. Coming from the North (Acadia, Bangor), follow Rt. 1 south until you get to Belfast. Take the first exit after you go over the high bridge in Belfast. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp. As you go down the hill into town the road makes a “Y.” Bear right onto Church Street. Follow Church Street through two stop signs, then for three blocks. The Alden House will be on your left. Turn left on Park Street and look for our guest parking area. |
